Differences Between Bamboo Flooring and Wood Flooring
I. Bamboo Flooring
Bamboo panels are bonded using adhesives, applied with high temperature and pressure. The resulting flooring is non-toxic, firm, stable, won't delaminate, and won't deform. A key difference between bamboo and wood flooring is that bamboo material, after special harmless treatment to remove sugars, fats, starches, and proteins, boasts superior insect-resistant properties. The flooring is sealed on all six sides with high-quality imported wear-resistant paint, making it flame retardant, durable, and mildew-resistant. Bamboo flooring's surface is smooth and soft, with good geometric dimensions and stable quality. It's a premium decorative material for residences, hotels, and offices.
Bamboo flooring offers many characteristics. Firstly, bamboo replaces wood, possessing the inherent features of timber. Furthermore, during the processing of bamboo, high-quality, national-standard compliant glues are used, preventing harm to the human body from substances like formaldehyde. Additionally, with advanced equipment and technology, raw bamboo undergoes 26 processing steps, combining the natural beauty of solid wood flooring with the robustness and durability of ceramic tiles.
II.Wood Flooring
Wood flooring refers to flooring made from wood. The main types of wood flooring produced in China include solid wood flooring, laminate wood flooring, engineered wood flooring, natural landscape wood flooring, bamboo flooring (mentioned as a separate category, though here we're comparing it to other wood types), and cork flooring.
Solid wood flooring is a ground decorative material formed from natural wood after drying and processing. It showcases natural wood grain and color patterns, giving a natural, soft, and inviting texture. Its characteristics of being warm in winter and cool in summer, along with a good tactile feel, make it an ideal material for decorating bedrooms, living rooms, and studies. Solid wood flooring is directly processed from wood and is the most traditional and ancient type of flooring. Solid wood flooring (also known as natural wood flooring) has the advantages of being pollution-free, having natural patterns, being elegant and substantial, rich in texture, and possessing genuine elasticity, making it the preferred material for floor laying in home decoration currently.
Bamboo flooring features a straight fiber arrangement, making it less prone to warping and deformation. In contrast, wood flooring has a complex and intertwined fiber arrangement, making it more susceptible to warping and deformation. Compared to wood, bamboo reaches maturity much faster than timber, typically in 4-6 years, and has an extremely strong regenerative capacity. Harvesting bamboo causes significantly less environmental damage than felling trees. Furthermore, discarded bamboo does not cause secondary pollution to the environment. For countries like ours with continually deteriorating natural environments, especially where natural forest coverage is less than 20%, bamboo is undoubtedly a high-quality green alternative resource.
